Over the next few days I will be making numerous posts on standards to be followed by all artists who plan to submit either donated works, or for profit works to the Renderosity Online Store. My goal is NOT to make it harder to submit, but to make items more salable. Many people (including myself) are attracted by a high degree of professionalism in the products we purchase since we do not have time to "find the workarounds". I will be posting a checklist of guidelines and standard conventions to be followed for each item type submitted. This will be posted incrementally at first, and be divided into categories for the various types of items for sale: poseable figures, props, conforming clothing, texture maps, tutorials, etc. I will also be posting some sample release and readme files for folks to follow as "templates" in creating their own or merely drop in the ready to use one that is pertinent to what they are marketing. Every Read-Me/Instructions file included should follow the same basic format. Even though exacting, these criteria will need to be met for each category before a piece will be signed off on for acceptance. My goal here is to enable testers to work faster in beta testing your product, and also to enable customers who purchase to do the same when it comes time to using your product. Thank you all for bearing with me whilst I get our standards in place. I will be gathering them all into one long FAQ in the end, but in the meantime check the Store Online Contact Forum often for any new posts by myself. I will also post to the other boards as well, but since they fill up more quickly than the Store Forum, it will be easier to locate the posts in the Store Forum. As always, I am here to help in any way I may, Liz Birdsong hbg@kreative.net
