I took this shot twice last week. And I am not sure which one I like better. Opinions? keep in mind this is only the downsized images, I haven't done anything to the images yet. Thanks! Magick Michael

The portrait version...

flip it around and it looks REALLY killer...

It seems that the reflection in the water is the main subject, but for some reason I thought the crop at the top was still too tight, although more on the horizontal, not so much on the vertical. I liked the vertical one more, but since the stream flows horizontal, that would seem a better fit. Just realized thats a contradiction. Hey, its late here, and my alarm goes off in just 5 hours. Guess that means I just like the overall general effort here. How about a shot of just the reflection?

Fict posted while I was rambling... Almost said if you shoot the reflection only, flip it around for proper perspective... Looking here it works!

Top one, with rocks cropped of from right side. .n

The branch/branches running across the bottom are very distracting to me....I would crop those out. Landscape version is better IMO.

I'm with nplus on the branches....but ficcy's flip is hella cool!

I am, therefore I create.......

I like the landscape version better. If the curved branch in the foreground weren't there, the pic would've been perfect. The reflection is a killer. :-) (Was thinking of the same flip thing, but Ry beat me to it. Pheh.) (*

Try something new. Take the top horizontal, right side up photo and crop off the bottom so the top half remains. To me it seems the most interesting. You have the smooth to wavy water splitting the photo asymetrically but gives it balance and you still see rocks down on the lower right. Just a thought.
