I am trying to do as much post-render work as possible on my artwork, and had as idea for my latest work to draw just about everything (including armor plating over shoulder). Everything I have done so far, sword scabbard, clothing, ect. has turned out pretty good, but I am having trouble with the armor. I have the shape and have a start on the shading and lighting, but everything I have completed so far looks too cartoon-ish! I did a silver tip on the scabbard that looks perfect, but cannot manage to replicate the effect on the larger armor. This time I have tried to start with a darker color to see if it will help, but I am still stuck! I have not darkened the edges yet, nor applied shadows. Somebody please HELP!!
