Hi I have a small Wacom Graphire tablet of my own which works fine. I did wonder if a bigger one would be better so I borrowed my friends Wacom Digitzer II. But...its a serial conection. The problem I have is that I finaly got the pen to register however when I go into the setup program in control panel it says it cant find a certain DLL and thats it! I have XP with the latest driver updates down loaded from the net. Anyone any Ideas? Dave

What the .dll's name? You could try and do a search on that in Google and someone might have the same problem and the answer for it. I had that with a device of mine. XP missed a .dll. I did the search, found a site which provided the .dll, put it in the right folder and it worked. Hope that helps!!!

Better yet, why not go to the company's web site and see if you can find a version of the software that is made for Windows XP? You'll very often find different versions of software or drivers to go with different operating systems. My SummaGraphics SummaSketch III is a good example.

I have a Wacom Pen Partner and since upgrading to XP, I can no longer use it. I downloaded the appropriate driver from Wacom but when installing it, it tells me I need to have it plugged into either a serial port or ubs. However, the cord that came with the tablet has neither of those connections and plugged into a mouse port. I've messed around with it this weekend and have finally given up in frustration - I have some credit left at a computer store so I think I will just opt for a new tablet. I have talked to Wacom but they were not very helpful. :) Irene

Over a year ago I did as PeterWahoo suggests...went to Wacom and got their XP beta driver for my ArtzII. Worked fine, still using it.

I ditched my old wacom ArtZ II when I got Win Xp - one of the main reasons was that you mentioned above. Now my Graphire is using USB and it works better. Hope you can solve your proble. I tried downloading and all, got it to work for a short time after which there were inifinite number of errors.

My serial port UltraPadA5 works fine under XP, clean install so it isn't using a 98 dll left over. Can you check your serial port is configured correctly in Device manager/ the computer's BIOS? The drivers are the same for all versions of Windows.

Wacom works perfectly fine with XP. I installed USB for myself and several serial types for other friends. Only you need the new drivers for XP. But as I mentioned... sometimes the upgrade misses the appropriate .dll's cos they didn't include it in the upgrade, because they expect XP to have it. If not, there are hundreds of sites with the right .dll's. Too bad you need to get rid of a perfectly good graphic tablet for only one file of not even 1 kb most of the time. All in all, the main thing is that it will work pretty soon. Hope that is the case...
