The contestants stared at each other...each with a secret weapon, words honed to a razors edge. They circled each other cautiously trying to seek out each others weak points.

Suddenly the battle ensued and the judge looked on as the wind began to blow and each member in the ring tried to stay the course.

Slowly they started to loose their grip, and as the wind increased they slipped, and once free flew over the ropes, for it wasn't in cleverness the volta rang, nor in rhyme, nor in hidden meaning, nor in labor, but when all the tests
were applied one form was left standing in the ring.

A champion ,thought retired, had returned to retake the crown
and Jstro regains his place in the laureate square. Congrats Jon on a job well done and fit.

Wow. Gives me sort of a glow. :-) I went back and reread all the entries, and we had a lot of very nice poems this time around. Good work by everyone that took part. Thanks for the kind words, all. jon

Ack! I didn't realize from the title that the poetry challenge winner had been announced! I'm still catching up after my mini-vacation.

Sorry for the delay. Congrats jstro!

(You guys needs to beat on me if I don't get the winners up in a timely manner!)
