Heheh, cool... Just something inspired by one of those kit-plane type deals that I've seen at the local airport. I'm not sure what design or model, but for the hell of it - I'm calling it the "Aire 404". (Name has something to do with subtle internet humor.) It's a pusher prop type plane, for those of you who never seen these before. So the cockpit is at the front. I modeled it in Wings3D, if anyone cares to know how it was made. I'll upload it to my angelfire page as soon as I get the folder put together.

Ok... All done... All you need to do is assign the materials you want or UV map it, etc (unless you like the blinding white 100% ambient Wings default material.) No cockpit interior, but hey - it's free. :)Your friendly neighborhood Wings3D nut.

Thanks A.S. Now I wonder what happens to my freebies once people get 'em. I know people are going and at least looking by the hit counters. But I've yet to see one of my models used. I wonder if people just collect these things or what? Not that it really matters, but it's one of those curiosity things.

Everyone here are like rodents... they're just constantly finding additions to their stashes.

I feel like I'm cheating when I use someone's model, only one I've actually used is Odeathoflife's guitar..and that over, and over..;) Problem is, I have as much fun making my own models as using someone else's..;)The design is similar to the Rutan airplanes, and my company has a jet version of the one above (or did 5 years ago..I'm waay too low on the totem pole to get a closer look..;). Mainly I just have too many of them (over 10,000), and I forget..or I'm getting old, or both..;)

I do use freestuff. With great appreciation! Not sure where or when it will be used but it will be. Thanks!

I probably could do a jet version... It wouldn't be much harder than swapping out the fuselage part for a different one, ditching the prop and landing gear, and adding engine pods. The tricky thing might be modifying the lower wing and new fuselage for retractable gear (I suppose I could be lazy and have an in flight only version.) Heheh... Sometimes it's funny how remarkably some aircraft are shaped alike. I've seen what appear to be kit planes that follow this layout. And I'm sure I've seen the jet versions on TV. (Business jets at the airport here still look like the typical Learjet configuration or are identical to the smaller "regional" commercial jets.) My guess is that the same overall layout could work in different aircraft with only a few mods to accomodate the size, propulsion method, and operating speed.

That last one has yet to appear on the market, dunno what it takes to make the grade. (Only five bucks too.) Hopefully, it'll pass muster... Anyhow, there's a newer aircraft model (Tenretni) that's free if anyone's interested. Any of my freebie item links will take you to the download page where it is located.
