Hey all, This is a scene I am working on, but not quite finished with. Anyone have any tips/advice for future directions? Being relatively new to bryce, I have heard wonderful things about volumetrics but don't know diddly about it. Any tips/advice regarding volumetrics? Any good tutorials out there on the subject? And also, to do any volumetric stuff in Bryce, do you have to have Volumetric World turned on in Skylab? Just curious, and any opinions welcome... HG...

Hi HG, Only if you want excruciatingly long renders would you use the volumetric world function. however there are other ways to achieve the effect, one is encompassing you "Visible " scene with a sphere and applying a volumetric texture. there are a few tutorials around I'll try to dig one up for you. also if your using a registered version of Bryce 4, you can download the patch from www.metacreations.com and while your there download the new volumetric presets. there slow(as are all volumetric textures and lights) but they're pretty nice. Nice Image so far. Hawkfyr

Yeah Hawk I totally agree, a nice Vol. texture would work very well, ALSO..another good way to trick the volumetric world is to use the RGB perspective in conjunction with the haze and fog, not only in colors but in base height etc, also adjust your sun's position and color to work with those. that's all with Bryce 4 and the Skylab if you have that version:-0

Do atleast one thing a day that scares the hell outta ya!!

Very nice. I like the mood this sets. Maybe a glow around the sword?
