Attached Link: Flash Version Check

Hi all I would like you to go here: http://www.brycetech.com/stufftodelete/version.html and post here what you saw there. this is just a flash version check...This is relevant because I am making a new Amapi7 tutorial cd uses the latest flash player. This tutorial cd goes into extreme detail in not only Amapi, but also in using Amapi to make clothing, models, props, etc for poser. It will also include the now closed "posertech" so that not only can you make a model for poser..you can "poserize" it with complete instructions. So, I not only need to check for the correct version, but would also like some kind of idea of how many have the most current version of Flash. its a very small swf..only 3kb... please let me know what you see there. thanx BT

Please do not download the freebee unless you reply to this message...I need the info, and what you see there is a VERY small price for a posable cartoon character. many thanx :) BT

WIN 6,0,40,0 The current version of flash on your computer will not allow you to view the tutorials properly. You should visit http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/ and download the latest player. This flash tutorial requires version 6,0,79,0 or later. Does this mean I gotta buy the upgrade?

hauksdottir posted Sat, 26 April 2003 at 10:39 PM

Win 6,0,65,0 I hated upgrading Flash this high. Had to to get into a bit more of DAZ's site, although I still can't get to the secure areas. I must use this Windows box for communication with the world, but any time some piece of software insists that I allow THEM to upgrade the system without being able to undo their damage, all hell breaks loose in the innards somewhere. Unstable is a polite word for this "operating" system. It will be with severe reluctance that I upgrade to Flash 7. Thank you for the tutorials and for the critter. Carolly

sandoppe posted Sat, 26 April 2003 at 11:07 PM

That's odd Carolly. My version is lower than yours....I don't think I'm missing anything at DAZ??? What are the "secure areas" you refer to?

hauksdottir posted Sun, 27 April 2003 at 6:35 AM

I was on Flash 5 and could ONLY see the Store and Free section. No contests, FAQs, tutorials, gallery. :( You have to have Flash 6 to see any of that (and yes, I yelped). The problem with the secure area isn't related to that... it started shortly before they went all flashy. Seeing all the goodies in the Store didn't mean that I could buy any of them directly or even see my account history. I have to call or email to make a purchase, but the folks there are quite friendly and willing to set up the temporary email link so I can download. My browser is an Earthlink shell over IE and DAZ is one of the two places where I can't enter a secure area because it doesn't think my encryption is high enough or some such. I've bought from Nerd and PhilC and VistaInternet and Renderosity with no problems, so I suspect that it is a weird quirk in some protocol or other... but I'm an artist not a technical engineer. Their new webmaster has offered to help and I should probably lay this problem at his feet. It is odd. I will replace the hard drive in the Mac this weekend (bad media) and have no problems cannibalizing the PCs for anything salvagable, but if I have to edit the Registry I need somebody to hold my hand. Carolly
