Please help? I cannot succeed in grouping the eyes for the new model I made. Is there some trick to group and attach them properly to the bones inside the head? It's so hard to select all of it with without selecting parts of the head! I made props from the eyes now, but I would like to set them up... ? Thanks in advance!

Here is how I do it. 1. Import character model without eyes. 2. Import eyes one at a time. >now I can move the eyes in the scene to set up groups. 3. Move the eys so they are not close to the character model. >Use the grouping tool to create a group for each eye. Example: "LeftEye" group for the left eye. "RightEye" group for the right eye. 4. Select the left eye and create the new group 5. Add all the polygons for the left eye to this new group. 6. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the right eye. > Now you will have a group on each eye that contains the polygons for each eye. 7. Position the eyes in the correct place in the characters eye sockets. 8. Export the model in .obj format. (there are a few things you need to do in this process). A. Make sure that both eyes and the characters body are selected for export. b. Un-check "Include figure names in polygon groups c. Check "Include existing groups in polygon groups" This will keep the groups you created for the eyes in the new model. 9. Once you have correctly exported the model, delete the body and the two eyes. 10. Now import the model that we just exported. It will have the body and both eyes. More importantly, it will have the groups "LeftEye and "RightEye". Now... When you are in the setup room you can use the two eye groups to setup your eyes. Hope this helps, Joe www.3-AXIS.com

Was just searching the forum and came across this. What I do is apply a material to teh eyes in the modeiling program ( also everythign else ie, skin, mouth etc...) Then after setting up the bones in the set up room and during hte grouping. I go to the head and make sure that it has all it is suppose to (usually by selecting to include the eye groups) Then I go into the eye and remove all polies, then add material > the eye materials. I have never had a problem doing it this way.
