I'm a newbie to poser 5, where would I put these files?

jpg's would typically go in your Textures folder. rsr's willl go same place as the cr2/pp2 with the same name. If there is a .png with the same name as the rsr you can place it in your recycling bin :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Ain't no such thing as an *.rsrc file. I'll bet you mean *.rsr of which there are 2 kinds: "big" ones go in RuntimeGeometries with their matching *.obj files; and the "little" ones are just thumbnail pictures that go with their matching files in Runtimelibraries... (The little thumbs you see when you open "Hair" or "Poses", etc. Poser5 uses *.png instead of .rsr files. ".jpg" files GENERALLY are found in Runtimetextures where Poser uses them for texturing, bump & transparency. Yeah, it's more complicated than all that, but hope this helps.

In the Poser forum masthead is a link to (among other things) Backroom Resources. from there you can get to the FAQ that includes a link to the page (Poser File Extentions)at this link. You'd likely find a lot of the Backroom info valuable.
