Today I tested and passed to be a contestant on Jeopardy. It has been a dream of mine to be on the show. They were here in San Antonio looking for contestants. I took a test with 58 others and was one of the 19 that passed, so this means that I am in the contestant pool for the next season taping of Jeopardy that will start taping in the summer. I am still doing a HAPPY DANCE and I just had to share. Here's hoping I get a call to LA to be on the show sometime in the 12 months.

Well, lets just hope they want a Nurse from San Antonio for the mix sometime. I will be sure to let you all know and my name so you know who to look for. The answering in the form of a question is NOT a problem. I have been a fan since the Art Fleming days. (Tells my age, as Alex has been hosting for 19 yrs now) It is so ingrained in me that any game I play, that is how I answer, with a "What is....." . Now I am practicing the buzzer thing. What you don't see is that there is a light along the sides of the board that tells the constestants when they can ring in. Alex has to read the entire question before or it is locked out. So me and my ballpoint pen watch and practice waiting for the clue to be read then clicking. We had a practice game after the test with the "real" clickers to find out how they work and so they could make sure you projected well.

You have to know all the Canadian geography...Alex thinks Americans are pitiful for not knowing anything about Canada...or geography in general....

geoegress... the correct format is Answer: The capitol of Nebraska Question: What is Lincoln? Dave-So ... I am pretty well versed on geography at least the countries that have not changed borders/names in the last few years. That is what I have to bone up on.

Congrats. But, you know this is the "War Forum", right? I didn't think people actually posted non-war-related messages in this forum any more.
Lovely Lady posted Mon, 28 April 2003 at 3:29 PM
John, I originally posted it in the Poser forum but they moved it here. I guess they thought it was better, but more folks know of me in that forum.
JohnRender posted Tue, 29 April 2003 at 8:10 AM
My message was sarcasm... it's not often you see an actual non-war-related message thread in this forum anymore.
