The first tool in "Pozers Little Helper" loads multi grouped (body parts) .obj files, morphs them and exports working Morph injection files for Poser 4 and 5. A minute after you have saved your whole Bodymorph .obj you can test it in Poser regardless of how many body parts it morphs.

(Your model must have Morph injection channels for this to work, included tool files are for DAZ3D Vicky 3 model)

Changes from beta1 include:

Morph Group Mirroring includes fix for delta order error in V3 Collars.
New Project file standard, you dont need project files anymore, but they help speed everything up. (new standard not compatible with Beta1)
Fixes, bug removal and general finishing of routines.
Manual in HTML.

Using this app can be rather simple:

  1. Load an original .obj
  2. Load a Morphed .obj.
  3. Click on 'Generate Morph'.
  4. Click on 'Set up Injection Files'
  5. Change project file if necessary.
  6. Select an Injection Channel from the list, write in a Morph Dial Name and a BodyMorph name.
  7. Click on the Injection, Dial visibility, and Pose save buttons to save all the files, the correct directories will be displayed and the file names are filled out for you (if you have a project file).
  8. Start poser and see if it worked.

This is probably the last update of this module of PLH before version 1 is released. I have to concentrate on finishing my report on this module for my class and after that Ill probably make the MosaGif module before returning to the Full .obj to Morph Injection module. (Unless some big bugs show up.)

If any of you have experience with hand making morphs for V3 and have time to write a short report on the differences between making V3 morphs by hand and using my application then that would be appreciated as my teacher has no knowledge of Poser and cant determine how effective my app is. Your report will probably be included in my Project report and made public at my university so dont write anything you dont want others to read and sign it with your name.

Send the report to my E-mail at: staloe@online.no

Staale.

Hi Staale! One question .. is this product V3 specific, or will it work on other characters as well? If so, you have yourself a beta tester 8-)

The V3 part is just a Morph Injection Channel list file, by adding MIC lists for other characters you can use them with this app as long as they have Injection Channels. The MIC list is just a text file with the names of the Injection Channels. Here is a quote from the manual: New Private Lists for non V3 models: MIC lists are just an ASCII text file (.txt) renamed .mic. To make your own list open any .txt compatible application and add channels like this "MyChannel01" "MyChannel02" etc... The " is needed for VB to recognise the start and end of a string data field. When you have finished the list save it as MyName.mic in the "TextMICNameLists" folder and it will automatically show up in the MIC file list. My app allows MIC names to be 20 characters long, the 21 character and out is used by the mark data. You can add comments to the MIC list by placing it in the Mark data area, the mark is not read by the app and can contain any text you want to, but it will be erased if the user marks or clears that channel. .. and I just discovered I hadnt spellchecked that part, but thats life :) The Beta is freely avaiable to everybody on my home page so if you have any use for it then download it and have fun. The only regret I have from making this app is that I didnt make a similar thing for Posette when I made the BodyMorpher character. All the boring stuff is removed from morph making, only the artistic fun parts remain

I just fixed a bug. In the project set up the drive selector for org and morph directories didn't update the folder part of the path. So if that happens to you then download the file again. And remember to extract the zip with the 'Use folder Names' checked. Staale

Being relatively new to the nitty-gritty of injection channels, how can you create them for other characters (such as the P4/P5 characters and the older Millenium figures also)? (Sorry for all the questions, but I want to learn this stuff ;-))

Oh, now this is something I can use...Just finished hand creating one for my new character. I'll download it and give it a go. If I can find some time, I'll see if I can't come up with a report for you.

To Deecey: A Injection channel is an empty morph channel, basicaly it has no deltas. I haven't added MIC's to any characthers myself so i don't know the fastes way of doing it, but a good text editor should do the trick. To RealitysPoison: That would be nice! It doesn't have to be long.

When do you need it by? I'm gonna give the proggie a test sometime today. Kind of in the middle of property disputes and such, so I'm swamped right now, but I will try to get you one written up. Just let me know when you need it.

I'm not shure, one week maybe, that should give me time to add it before i have to deliver the raport. Staale.

Is this actually supposed to work, or is it just a preview, as I don't get a generate morph button. Just stays grayed out.

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?

Staale posted Mon, 19 May 2003 at 6:43 AM

You have to load: One original model. One Morphed model. Then the button will be activated.

bwldrd posted Mon, 19 May 2003 at 7:39 AM

I tried it with something simple like rdna new morph terrain and worked rather quickly. But will not for Vick, even after setting for an hour an half. Maybe I just don't have enough Umph my system. shrug

Scratch last comment, just gave another go, and now seems to be working fine. Must just been one those days when was trying before. Lol :)
