Is it possible to add "joints" to a character in Bryce so that it can be animated? It would be like if you moved one "joint," the rest of the body would move accordingly. I'm imagining something like Poser.

You can but not like Poser where the mesh bends as well. The figure has to specially prepared so that either the joints are hidden or you model using cylinders and metaballs linked to the appropriate "bone". IOW you can't just import a poser mesh and add "bones" to it and pose it, the joints would seperate. Now if you don't have Poser there is a free program called Anim8or that can bone meshes but I haven't worked with it much so can't tell you how easy or hard it is.

Did you ever do the tut for the dirty metal AS? I would like to see it if you have. Catlin

Lol...oh, you're gonna kill me, but I honestly forgot how to do it. (I never took notes when I was doing it) But, I'm working it out again, and when I have it solved, I'll post it up. It's all just clicking filters, no hand painting required, and it's automatically seamless. So...I HAVE to figure it out again, lol. What I DO have (coming) are tutorials on how to make rock textures, the tutorial(s) on my Challenge entry for this month, and a quick basic setup for faking HDRI. Probably all done in the coming week. AS

Where do you find the time!?!?! I can't wait to see more on HDRI renders, it seems to be an increasingly interesting topic. I've got the Global Illumination thing down, and the True Ambience, but never had much luck with HDRI renderings...
AgentSmith posted Sat, 03 May 2003 at 5:04 PM
It's easy to do the basic setup. And, Global Illumination can be used in conjunction with it, or not. Some HDR's scenes I have maybe 20-30 lights, some just have the sun, it all depends on what looks best. Then there is the HDR with True Ambience and NO lights (not even the sun), lol.... I'm trying to word it all out to be as plain and simple as possible. And, really it is, it's just that each person has their own way to set it up is all. AS

I have a nice character-animation of a dancing robot to show of how you can animate in Bryce. I'll see if I can get is smaller, it's about 100meg now. Will a 400pixel res be high enough? Also is there anyone able to host it if it doesn't fit on my 'Rosity' space (wich I should have as a merchant) Anyone interested in seeing it?
