Congratulations to Shishido for the winning entry! Here are the comments by Antoine Clappier. 1- Best image: - Image #12 in the gallery - Author: Shishido - Comment: good modeling, good texturing, very good composition, perfect lighting! In my opinion, this is by far the winner. Second and third are very difficult to choose! There are a lot of good images. 2- Second Best image: - Image #14 in the gallery - Author: Claudiomil - Comment: very interesting use of metaballs, very good texture. 3- Third Best image: - Image #8 in the gallery - Author: rsvit - Comment: a bit dark but excellent textures and good modeling. Other very good images: - #13 (Songkann), #18 (scifirex). Overall, I very impressed by the quality of the images. Special thanks to Eovia and especially Antoine for sponsoring the contest! We're going to take a break on contests. Renderosity has asked for contests to quiet down for a little while so we can concentrate on the new site logo contest. Again, congratulations! -Kix

Great render, Shishido! Claudiomil and rsvit's work were excellent too.

Wonderful work. Congratulations Shishido. Good job Claudiomil and rsvit's. I find organic shapes very difficult to make convincingly - I am amazed by all the entries. memaci

Congrats to the winners. I liked the mood in #13. Reminded me of the "A Bug's Life" movie which I really enjoyed.

Congratulations, Shishido. That is really a good exemple of a balance between realism and artistic. Very good work of rsvit and all artists on this contest. Thanks for all the comments.

Thanks for everyone.
I want to be pleased with the ability to be awarded on behalf of a Japanese Carrara user.
Though regrettable, there are not many Carrara users in Japan. I want to enlarge the ring by making a work.
It is thankful to the judges who chose my work.

Congrats to Shishido and the other winners! Really nice work; inspiring stuff (literally, makes me want to try out some of these techniques). Jez's entry #5 was quite interesting as well. Marc

Big Congrats to Shishido and the other Contestants! Awesome images. I know it must have been a tough one to choose. Good job again. Mike Ps. Could it be possible if the winners of these contests create a tutorial on how they created their winning image to assist novice modellers to a higher level? (And I think with this contest the level of creativity did step up.)

Uhhh... Stupid question, but is there a link to "the gallery" where the contest images can be viewed?
hartcons posted Tue, 06 May 2003 at 11:34 AM
just click on the banner at the top of this page

Congratulations, Shishido san. It is a really excellent Japanesque image :-) I am a Carrara user in Japan. You might know, there is a Carrara Mailing List in Japan. Please visit www.carrara.jp/com/index.html to join the ML, if you take an interest in it. The ML subscribers will be pleased with your win :-)

Which "banner at the top"? The advertisement at the very top? No. The "Contests" link in the Renderosity section? Nothing there looked right. The Renderosity Logo contest? That's also not a Carrara exclusive contest. Somewhere in the Backroom? Didn't see it there. Sorry, I'm feeling clueless. - Jasen.

Jasen, The link on the banner must have been taken down. You can find the contest entries in the "Back Room" under "Archived Carrara/RDS Contests." Keith
