I need pictures of VW cars for a client project. Minimal payment if any (sorry, teeny budget). Only 3 shots needed total. Email me for details. Lyrra and yes technically this should go in the Jobs/Resumes ... but its a rush job shrug

Kewl - it's nice to see a request of this nature here, imo. I never look in the jobs/ resumes bit personally, and lets face it, if you want photos where better to ask? Only thing I would comment on regarding this is when requesting pics, I think we'd need more details. What comes to mind here is things like what country? (VW's in Europe different to USA etc) and a bit more spec on what was required- eg, old VW's (old beetle, camper etc) new VW's, Custom.... etc etc etc.... Shame I can't help, though, I've got too much on my plate already and it's not a thing I have in my library. Cheers anyways! (",)

I figured that I didn't want to bore people unneccasarily :) I need three face-on shots of VW's. Preferably vintage (not modern) and restored. Rabbit, bug and van. Not custom jobs. I could even colorize a B&W photo if needed. The client just moved into a huge new garage and needs to cover the lower windows of the baydoors (so people can't see what a mess the shop is). So I'll be making a tromp l'oiel mural for them. Hence the need for front on shots, like the vehicles are in the garage. Help the additional info helps :)

Are digitals OK and if so do you need a minimum resoultion? Also, how soon?

Digital is fine. I'll be massively retouching/reworking them and using digital expansion techniques. I'd like at least 3000 px on the longest dimension. I have a ftp dump site if you're doing digital. Each photo will be blown up to a little bigger than life size, and split into 6 panels to go into the garage window. After I'm done doing arcane things in Photoshop, of course. grin As far as timing, I need them soon (1 week, maybe 2), so I can get the digital processing done and out to a printer and back to the shop by the end of June. I've done this kind of work before, I just need source pics :) And to answer the obvious question ..no he doesn't have vehicles that can be photographed, due to a fire he was out of business for a year.

OK, I'll be the ignorant one. My camera is a 2.1 megapixel with max resolution of 1200x1600 what does that equate to in regards to your request for a 3000 px log dimension. I wouldn't bother to ask so many questions except for I'm kind of curious and my boss has an early 70s model, baby blue VW with a white convertable top that's clean and he probably wouldn't mind my taking a few shots.

doca, It means that I do a little more in the way of magic tricks. Ask your boss if he minds his car being on the front of a VW Restoration garage :) Actually, while you're at it ask him if he know anyone else who wouldn't mind having their cars pictures taken. Most VW people know others in their area. All I need is a straight on front shot of the car .. with as little glare as you can manage Thanks! Lyrra

I'll see what I can do. There are a couple of VW junkies around town. I don't know many in restored condition though. I'll ask if he knows anyone that wants to model for a resto garage.
