I own Bryce 5. What I'm wanting to know is is there much difference between them? Is it worth purchasing Vue 4 if I own Bryce 5? I'd be grateful of any answers.

Check the FAQ link plus there is a deal at E-On if you already own Bryce you can get Vue even cheaper.

Thanks Guitta, I'm in the same position as Sol1 and have been considering Vue for a little while now (its the Poser to Bryce issue that bugs me most) I found this review really helpful.

Don't hesitate. Grab Vue. The Poser import will spoil you rotten. But don't throw out Bryce. I find scene setup much harder to do in Vue than in Bryce and you'll find yourself screaming for Bryce's edit controls. Sigh. But Vue has some very nice features for sure!

My last version of Bryce is 4, so I couldn't say much about Bryce 5, but I can say that Vue 4 is worlds easier to use and faster to render than Bryce 4. Just my opinion, but Vue's World Browser feature is worth it alone, and the four viewports and the highly intuitive material editor makes object placement and texturing very easy. Best thing though is to do as suggested and try the demo. I fell in love with Vue the very first few minutes of using it, way back when version 3 came out. :)

Thanks for the addfress. Yeah, there have been innumerable contrasting articles written comparing Bryce to Vue, and I've seen people claim Bryce is better just as often. I personally prefer Vue, because it fits the way I want to work better than Bryce does, and the interface is peferect for me. But both programs have their strong points and weak points, and both programs are excellent for creating digital art. I suppose that's why God invented demos. ;) Not surprisingly, ther eare alot of people who use both Bryce and Vue regularly, just like there are people who use both Max and Lightwave, Photoshop and Painter, PC and Mac, and so forth.

I just received my copy of Vue yesterday. It renders somewhat different than Bryce does. Sometimes it can be quite obvios when an image has been rendered in Vue as opposed to Bryce. However, I see where the programs can compliment each other more than anything. The one thing I do like about Vue is it's similarity to LW, and that would be to having a few different camera angles on the screen at the same time (as well as a low res. render). As for the article mentioned in the previous post. As some people pointed out in the Bryce forum, the guy mentions in his article that he isn't as familiar with Bryce as he was with Vue. Many of the things he thought weren't possible in Bryce are, one just has to know what they are doing. Happy rendering!!!
