Jeff, when Willow left I had just got here and Renderosity (which wasn't even called that then) was a pretty dismal place for a few weeks. But you were always here, answering hundreds of stupid questions like mine and it really gave me a sense of continuity and it was nice to see a familiar name in practically all the threads. Thank you for all the help you gave me and others. May you and your family be well, take care and hope to run into you again.

I don't know how to say my personal feelings on this. The written word is not my gift. So I just want to say "Thank You" for all the help you have given me from the start. Your friend, Serpent

I'm sorry to see you go. I did check your link. What I don't like about registering there is that it seems as though its a bid for getting demographic info from the registerees(is there such a word?)I refuse to be pigeonholed by age, gender or whatever. I don't like MY demographics given to some unknown quantity. Especially, when its not an integral part of what you're registering for. I'm sure your E-Forum doesn't need them. So who does and why? Are they asking me to add my personal e-mail password, too? If so, I wouldn't give that to anyone PERIOD, even one for my creative side, even without the visible characters. If I sound a bit irked, it's not you, but I have my own issue with commercial enterprises, and their lusting after the consumer victims, like birds of prey. It's not your fault, but I guess I'll have to decline under the circumstances, too bad, too.

Take care Jeff, it's been fun working with you and I wish you all the best Paul

MadRed posted Tue, 06 June 2000 at 7:03 AM

Geez, ya gonna stop back now and then, or just never come here again? I hope the former. Is this another example of success being its own worst enemy? As a hobby-site grows, the expense/trouble needed to keep it going pushes it into quasi-commercial endeavors in an effort to continue 'growth with quality.' Oh well, another site to bookmark and check up on. See ya, Jeff, MadRed

I'm very sorry to hear that, Jeff. I wish you all the best in your future. I have to thank you very much because without your help I wouldn't be there where I am today with Poser. I hope to see you here sometimes. Good luck your friend Chris

Jeff started the PoserTech egroup so there would be a place to go to ask questions without all the politics. It's not an attempt to take members away from here in the least. It's there as an ADDITIONAL resource. I don't know how many folks here are on the Poser egroups list. But when they swithched to using them. There were tons of this kind of panic. Eventually. everyone realized that egroups is not some evil empire. Trying to steal your first born son's. Egroups is a VERY popular service. And not using it is pure paranoia. And you are missing out on some great lists. Do what you want. But you are missing out on a bunch of great lists. ScottA
