I've been working on this about a month. It's basically a auto-terraforming station, in functional mode. The terrain texture is my own. I'm kind of stuck here. It needs more complexity, or machinery or something, I'm just not sure what. Any suggestions on what to add?

What industrial plant is complete without lots of ducts? And storage tanks, and piping, and maybe some fencing?

I think MadRed said enough to get you going as far as accessorizing the scene - I wanna say I really like the terrain texture; is it the same as what's on the 'ground'? The ground almost looks like you scanned a floral pattern - but by that I don't mean that is looks like you were going for flowers on the ground - it's cool in any event. Consider posting the mountain texture here in the materials section ; ) - Dave

How did you get there? If you think that there is something missing, you could add a Vehicle or something flying.

Consider making the orange energy on top of the cone a little less solid. It looks like a stick of some sort now, make it look a little more like energy, or if it sin't energy make it clearer what it is. Other than that I love the rest. Locke

Same here as far as the energy goes, maybe more transparent with some glow. Really cool though. (I gotta experiment more)

yeah, the ground is the same as the terrain. I don't actually recall where the pattern came from. I have several thousand pictures in a file that I use to make textures from. I liked it because if you add just a touch of ground fog, the terrain blends into the ground a biy better than most in Bryce do. Yeah, the energy discharge, this is the first time I've let the thing render out all the way to be able to see it. I had already made a note to make it more transparent, and was planning to add glow via eye candy in post. Yeah, ducts and piping were what I thought too. Back to modeling I guess lol.

Make a base of some sort or group the objects together to make a more unified device. As of now the electrode arcing to the main device isn't conected at all and if it fell your machine would be rendered useless. Also you may want to unshroud the two tanks in the background to make them more discernable. That way you can tell if they belong to the terraformer or they are separate somehow. Glad to see sci-fi regardless. Good luck!

It looks pretty good I would change the electricity on the orb it looks too plastic I think. Maybe change it to a glass .mat and then boost the lighting with its .mat

Hi Boney,Nice image so far, The mist in the background is a nice touch. Maybe a little more towards the foreground would be nice. Be sure not to clutter it up so much as to obscure that beautiful terrain texture. Looking again at this, its hard for me to get a sense of scale. I know this is an "auto-terraforming station" might there my be some "Beings" there?perhaps intrigued by this "Thing" Hawkfyr
