I can't figure it out. LOL. What in the world settings do you all use to get the leather look in clothing? For some reason, I cannot make it look right. It just looks as slick as vinyl. I have the bumps loaded, but I'm thinking I don't have them loaded correctly. Either that, or the rest of my settings suck. ;) Same with weapons. It's making me crazy. ;)

it might look slick because it's shiny: try decreasing reflectivity

you'll have to use a specularity map. Try a variation on one of the marble textures. That will make it so that it is only shiny at the cracks and folds.

Bump, color, ambience, all have an effect. Yet the 2 I focus more on is specularity and belive it or not metalicity, it tends to spread the specularity over the mat more evenly. More often I use sand/bump with increased in number size(decreased in size) for the bump, yet there are some fantastic leather mats out there. Grainy Bump, subtle Specularity. If you check my gallery you'll see a few styles of leather look. Good luck, hope to see what you come up with. ICM
