I wrote this when my best friend was suddenly taken from my life...sometimes the road to healing lies along the pathway of pen and inks....I still miss him, but know I will see him again. One day, in a world free from pain. SHINE ON You walked among men for such a short while, Gracing us with your laughter, your person, your light. You brought such happiness into so many hearts; each day new and fresh...you were always there. Warmth and summertime..that was your smile.. Your eyes as blue as the cloudless sky above ... Closing them in the coldness of winter, Icy waters drown your laughter Stop the beating of your heart. Silence..as deep as the ocean..no laughter The tears flow Icicles upon the heart, so cold and gray Where are you gone to now? Are you shedding your light anew.. A new world- new friends, to warm them as you did us? I feel you in the spring- fresh start.. In the wind that blows, your laughter rings out Winter passes over, summer will come again..
