I need an infinite plane in Poser that can be mapped at higher and higher resolution towards the center. Sort of like hmann's 3d worlds kit but infinite. I want the plane to mimic the horizon, (not seem to be thousands of feet too short when it hits the sky dome). I want to be able to animate alongside ships coming down and then stage action in the center of the plane. Is there any product available like that? Would this have to be done with python?
thanks,
caravaggio

"Infinite" is the big problem here. You could have very, very big, but not ever infinite. You could play around with the Poser One Sided Square, and keep adding it to itself many times until you build up a huge ground plane. Export the finished OBJ to UVMapper to remap, save the new version and use it for your ground. I did something similar when I wanted a very high res plane for water ripples.

Will this method let me use magnets to add small hills? Did you use the wave deformer to make the water ripples?

Yep, you can use magnets to make hills. And, yes, I used the wave deformer for ripples.

Your idea worked, but I used hmann's 3d worlds squares to do the basically the same thing. I created a new post as this one is buried and maybe it'll help others too. (see new post). The problem is, now I've got a sky dome scaled so high I doubt I'll be able to make a texture map big enough. If it's not one thing, it's something else...
