Ok, sorry for making this another post but I figured it'd work better this way(besides Masema was pretty close), sooo, heres the original again

These little things! I have no idea what they're called, but I wanted to see what it looked like focused on the tree in the reflection .) Haha, sorry if no one was as entertained as I was .)

(Yes this is a couple inches down from where the first one was shot, those bugs move fast)

Huh, that never even occured to me, but now it looks so obvious. Good guess on Masema's part, must be all that time he used to spend in the swamp (hehehe) :D

He he, could be. But I'm a little dissapointed...I was kinda hoping it was the Predator :) Cool idea for a shot.

Very neat idea. I believe that the little buggers are called 'water striders'.

PhrankPower posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 10:48 AM

I never would have guessed it. Good idea!

Akire posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 4:28 PM

those are water striders... nice shot too- they are really hard to focus on, aren't they?

Aww man...I was hoping for bird poop. That would make a great story. :) -=>Donald

Well I guess that you were pretty entertained. This creature picture is outrageous.

Over here we call these little critters 'water boatmen' or 'pond skaters' - I loved them as a kid! Used to catch them in my net and make them run over my hands... They're damn fast, eat small larvae, and are quite predatorial for their size. If I'm not mistooked they have a latin name like corixay or summik..... (I'm diggin this up from the memory banks, I can tell ya!!!) I believe the fly fishers among us may know of them, coz trout eat them, and I'm pretty sure there's a fly of the same name (corixay) for fishing....... See, not just a pretty face ;) (",)
