Maybe OT, but it *is* Poser related, since this involves PZ3's...

While doing a drag-and-drop transfer between hard drives of my 5.5 gig project folder, the time suddenly jumped from 2 minutes to this!! A minute later, it jumped back to 30 seconds, but not before I got this screen capture :)

13,577.23- hours? 564 days? :-| These compu-thingies seem to do their own thing. My defrag of 80gb ran for a while, then shot from 1 hrm 27 min to 41 hr 9 min, then finished about 10 min later. Good thing it does not try to balance my accounts.

This happens occasionally when transfering large amounts of data comprised of zillions (well, approximately) of small files. It's a weird Windows bug that usually is harmless, if not amusing. On occasion, though, it can herald the death of the transfer (usually across networks). Some other bugs that M$ hasn't worked out: 1. Deleting folders in Windows Explorer sometimes doesn't update the "Folders" panel in the display and requires it to be closed and rerun. You get a nasty dialog if you accidently click on the folder (as it no longer exists, despite what Explorer thinks). 2. The old and forgotten Internet Explorer HTML text bug seems to have crept back. During HTML page formatting, text is repeated on the next line that was already displayed. F5 (refresh) fixes it, but it is damned annoying. 3. Everything else about the OS... ;0) Windows XP Pro SP1 and Internet Explorer 6.0.2800. BYS

That's from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, if I'm not mistaken. Fantastic game for the GBA... I'm currently trying to work on a fan-created character myself, in Poser.

Actually, your computer was just one of the few items I overlooked when I froze all time for everyone and everything in the universe for the previous 18 months. -- whoops!

lhiannan posted Tue, 20 May 2003 at 11:28 PM

Yes, that's from Castlevania. Very, very cool game :)] And believe or not, those who are not familiar with Castlevania, that figure in the pic is a man, Dracula himself, in fact.

Shh! You'll ruin it for the others! :P Although, I did like the twist, myself.

I'm not really too sure where to grab a copy big enough... but the Castlevania Dungeon has a few pictures for it: http://www.classicgaming.com/castlevania/aria/cv-aria.htm By the way, it IS Dracula. Alucard is also in the game, and no long has white hair.

The worst I've seen when copying 80GB of stuff from one HD to another was something is the region of '62945725982 minutes remaining' or so. Sort of a hysterical reaction from Windows meaning "I haven't a CLUE how long this is going to take." :] Fish
