Oops! Made a bit of a blunder for some reason I was convinced the May challenge was patterns. I shot these down the coast and I dont think they fit repeating patterns :O ( Oh! well, I will post um anyway if you think they fit please include them in the gallery, which is a great idea much better than the old competition. With some luck I will try and shoot some Repeating patterns before the month is out. **:0 )**Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing. Salvador Dali

is the first one rocks? that's really freaky, not in an "eww" way but in a "wow, I'd hang that on my wall" way. I like "Channel" too, great pov!

Y thank you Akire the first one is rocks can you see the pointing hand in it? Its two layers, the base layer with gas blur and the top has soft light blending. :0 )

I didn't see the hand at first...that's really cool! I'm looking at this in a totally different way now.

Yes took me ages to find an image, I was on a 5 mile pebble beach, filling the frame with pebbles was easy. What do you see in my channel picture? :0 )

a wet tree trunk that almost looks like it has a cavern dug into it

My god! A wet tree trunk, that did not go through my mind, funny the thing we see whan we view images. I was attracted by the shapes the colours and the contrast between the soft water and the hard stone. Thanks Michelle I thought you might like the first shot do you think it might work in B&W. :0 )

Well after you asked I had to check it out in B&W.... I already had the image on my HD so I could make the thumb for the challenge. I played around with it quickly in B&W...not really trying to hard too get tones perfect or anything like that.... I must say IMHO I like the color version better....but I think it is fine in B&W as well. In fact the B&W seems even more abstract than the color version. I think the warm browns, oranges and hits of yellow in the color version just do it for me though...so earthy and warm if you know what I mean.
