I'm pretty new to Poser, but I think I'm starting to get it. I'd like to take an hr2 file and make an obj file so I can use UVMapper on it and make a transmap for it. Is that possible?

Sure, File/Export/Wavefront Obj You'll get a Hierarchy list. Click on Universe to deselect everthing, then select just the hair model and save.

Go to export in the file menu, when the hiearchy box shows up after the frame quiry uncheck universe, scroll down to the hair and check that and hit the button whatever its called and uncheck the buisness in the next box (check morph target maybe?) and there you are. Then when you have texture mapped it post the texture here ;) actually, import the obj back to poser at say 15% standard figur height set on the figures head, set the head as parent, load the texture to it in Render>Materials, and save the hair as a smart prop under props.

Here's an old thread (about 80,000 posts ago, can you believe that?) that had some ideas on Mapping Hair. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=44845

Thanks! I'll go read the old thread too. I did get it exported and imported back in. Now I just need to work on the texture and trans maps. This is very cool...
