I just downloaded "ps_ac376-sr1-update.exe" from DAZ (SR1 Anna-Marie Goddard Digital Clone morphs 5-23-03). When this file is double clicked it fails to launch an installer, or do anything at all.
Anyone successfully get this update installed?

Is it an unusually long file name? There are limits and folks seem to miss that little tidbit.

It's about average. The exact file name is: ps_ac376-sr1-update.exe

I get the same thing, it also happens with the Activewear basics update (ps_ac84-sr1-update.exe)

Try renaming to something shorter, if that works, email the folks who picked the name. remember, win doesn't really use long names, it uses 8 plus 3 but has a TSR that translates. I heard recently that mac which touts true long file names also has its limits.

No such luck with the renaming. I'm pretty coming to the conclusion there is a problem with updates that DAZ has posted.

Long names are fine on the PC. It sounds like an incomplete download.

I couldn't get the bikini update to work for me, either. Tim

Just re-downloaded it and it worked. Do the second one down if you have pc, if you look in the bar below it will show it as an exe not a sit, they are both named sit. Marque

I've never had a problem with long names in win2k, don't know about the mac. Marque

Very true (don't know about the mac.) Marque, because Mac don't use EXE files.

They have definitely changed files on us. When I downloaded the update today it's size was a little less than 8MB, verses 1MB when I downloaded it yesterday. The newer version of the update works too!
Still no word from DAZ as to what was going on. I don't know about you, but when DAZ is serves up the WRONG ".exe" in an update - this is a very bad thing for computer security. Who knows what was in that first installer or who really put it there to be downloaded? When you run a ".exe" you are basically giving someone free run on your computer to do anything they want.
If DAZ does not even know what files they are serving up, I am not very happy about DAZ storing my credit card information on their servers.

The active wear update link still does not work. I send an email a couple of days ago, but it has not been fixed. The sit file is appr. 4MB and the zip fil 80K. Does not seem right to me.
