Kind of new to all this so I thought I would ask. I hope the file size isn't too large.

Very interesting piece. I'm fascinated by the depth of layers it seems to have and how the cross seems almost three dimensional. Now, I'm left to ponder the process :)

Hmmmm....Alpha, Alpha...yes, I think I have heard of this legendary fellow, somewhere in a dream! Welcome Alpha, very nice to hear from you and see your work again. This wonderful image would not be out of place in "The Lord Of The Rings" graphics...I agree with MzQt, the sword is protruding out of my screen, I swear! Almost holographic. I would love to see a tutorial on how you achieved this old friend. hint hint ;-)>

Oh, hang on...it's not a sword, my silliness...duh, it's a cross...is this a dagger I see before me?...ummm...NO! ;-)>

Oh good. I thought I missed a sword. Is it me or is there a ghost hand reaching for the cross THROUGH the paper? Bsteph

Thanks to all who remember me, and Hello to anyone I haven't met before.

I just wanted to put something up so that people will know I haven't forsaken photography, or photographic based art for my studies in digital film/video and 3D work.

I don't expect to have much free time, or to be anywhere near as active as I was in the past (sorry PC no time for tutorials right now), but I will stop by as much as time permits.

For those who are interested, or wondering...

The image posted is comprised of five photographs (my own for those who do not know me yet, because i would not work with anything else). The original is 2550 x 3600 @ 300 PPI and is at least 20 layers deep over three or four iterations during the creation process. It includes textures made from the same photographs, some layers that were created in Painter 7 (also from the original photographs), a variety of hue/saturation - level - curve adjustments along with some lighting effects. A number of masks created using Photoshop's pen tool and a touch of Photoshop's liquify filter along with some brushing with the old Wacom.

I know there is more, but I cannot remember it all right now.

BTW... There is a lot of interesting work posted that has been posted lately. I wish I had time to comment on it all. Maybe soon.

Thanks Again
Alpha
