New animated shot at my website www.belino.net. Called *Cop Gorilla*. Just a Mimic 2 pro test. You'll see a very schizoprnetic (and rude) mimic-ed charcater. Very weird scene in fact. *Made with PPP, Mimic 2 pro, Vue/Mover4. QuickTime 6 format. 2,07 mo. 23''.*.Philippe

Ha ha ha That monkey movie was awesome!!!!!!!!! Thats some talent you got, how the heck did you do those humanistic movements for the Gorilla? I would like to do something like that soon.

With that language, he's gotta' be a New York cop! Great touch with the "Twang!" sound effect when he points to the outhouse at the end. Your work never ceases to amaze me! Sincerely, Bill

Very funny, but are sure he is not stereotype mafiosa rather than a cop? Nice job - love good laughs in the morning!

Love all your stuff. I can't believe you can get such good animations with just Poser PP and Vue...hehehe. Fantastic job :o). Laurie

It just goes to show you that the real "magic" comes from the artist, not just the tools. One thing I've noticed about Phoul's animations, he rarely uses static camera angles. His shots are almost always panning, zooming or being shaken by seismic forces. How many of us would think of or try to do something like that? Stop and think about this as well. Phoul requested the outhouse model just two days ago. Mimic 2 was released only last Friday. That means he composed this entire clip over the course of a single weekend! Not only is he talented, he is bloody fast! You certainly chose the wrong online moniker for yourself, because you are anything but a fool! I think I'll nominate you as artist of the year. Who's with me? Sincerely, Bill

That is a Phoul, er foul mouthed Gorilla. :D ROTFLMAO That was Pretty darn funny. You truly are the best Poser Vue animator around IMO. :D I can only strive to try to achieve half the creativity you show in camera work.

Yay, I'm with redfern! Excellent animation, I just love his movements, so natural. Well done, once again. :)

Thanks all. Thank you very much. :-)))
Redfern.
About my camera. It is a choice. I like the frenzy from the point of view, that of the glance. In long shots. With cgi artwork, my camera is more free than in reality.
I feel very free with Poser and Vue d'Esprit.

Of course I meant my observation as the best possible compliment. Many users, myself included, would probably set up a single static shot, leading to a very boring scene. Your technique gives one the feeling that the camera-person is literally in the environment, giving an added air of realism. Especially the camera shakes, those make me believe the cinematographer is running with the camera, one not balanced by the "Steady-Cam" system. I'd love to see what you could do with Lemurtek's Guenevere cat-girl figure! Sincerely, Bill

Thanks again for the compliments. That's make me sincerely happy. :-)
I don't know Guenevere cat-girl figure! Is it in Mp?

Guenevere is a free figure found at the suppled URL. Dave "Lemurtek" Matthews used LightWave to fuse elements of the Poser nude female and the default Poser cat into a "hybrid" character. He was kind enough to supply some Mimic morphs I originally made for his earlier character, Tobi. Since she doesn't have eyebrows, I adapted the Mimic controlled brow wriggles to twitch her ears instead. True, she doesn't have as tight a geometry as the DAZ Mil' figures, but I think she's pretty versatile. One just has to be careful with her feet. Any poses that would normally change the angle of Posette's feet from their default angle will do funky things to Guenevere. Surprisingly, she handles the Walk Designer very well. Lemurtekk spent a couple of weeks ironing out that bug. Here's a test shot of Guen' sporting a modified version of Toshi's Neko-Chan fur texture. she's also using Little Dragon's Anthro' Eyes and Fuzzy Tail add-ons making her a slightly more appealing character. I thought I'd toss this in to give you a better idea of the figure (just in case you're interested). Sincerely, BillTempt the Hand of Fate and it'll give you the "finger"!

Thanks for the infos and for the link. I'll test that character.
Btw, when I start an animated shot, I don't known where I'll go. I improvise. For the Cop Gorilla, I got the sound of the voice, changed it a few, very quickly decided it will be a beast. Checked my Daz collection. Bingo: the Gorilla of course, could be a good idea. Start Mimic 2. In fact started to learn it. Wonderfull soft. Very easy to learn. The help files are perfect (it is a rule for me: always read the manual!). After mimic, started to animate the character. At the beginng I though i'll put an antilope in front of him... hum... finally other ideas came. And decided to put a mirror. And so on... When the character was almost animated, I started to see where to put my camera. Always in Poser. It is like if I was a reporter (btw, my principal job these last years). I don't known what will happen. So, when I pans, I put delay... Well, and so on again.
As you see, it's free ramdom way artwork.
For Fools Games it was different. I wrote a screen play first. Make story board and animactics in poser before work on the finals animations and shots...
Finally, I can't tell you if I'll play with the 'cat girl'.
Actually try to write a new short. A funny one (very different than Fools Games). Can't tell more now ;-)
Philippe
PS: sorry for my poor english :-(

You know how I feel about your stuff by now Philippe ... suffice it to say, nice work as usual. It doesn't hurt that he's done real camera work in the past, either. For any of you aspiring animators, you should definitely do some "real world" filming first. It will give you an edge (like Phoul) that you never dreamed of ... seriously. It will TEACH you how to compose your shots and what works and what doesn't work. As Philippe said, you have much more freedom than with a real camera, but most of the principles still apply. Film school doesn't hurt either! ;) -Tim
