I found myself in a dilemma, although I have Poser, I haven't a clue as to how to do what I want, to get the figure I need for my entry (it's on my 'to learn' list), does anyone know where I might find 'Neptune' or "Poseidon' (depending on the Greek or Roman aspects)as a Poser figure, or character? And second, a Greek sailing vessel (both preferably freestuff)? If not I'll go with another pc of music...;)

http://www.static-lift.net/virt_sail/dnloads/downloads.html are various ships in direct X format, among them Nikephoros, a trireme. I don't remember whether Bryce can import X. You probably can convert it. I have a free trireme at home I downloaded from somewhere, 3dcafe.com I guess, but I can't access their site. I can mail it to you this evening. Poseidon, can't help you at the moment. I can make you a tri-... dam, forgot what it's called. And there's a tail pack for Poser somewhere, including a siren tail. I'll check when I get home.

I think I got my greek sailing ship from 3d commune or more probably planit3d. BTW: Triton was the one with a fish tail - Poseidon was human in appearance except he was supersized like all the greek gods.

I didn't know that bikermouse, have to brush up on my Greek/Roman/Norse mythology, there's a great resource for images in it and thanks I'll check 3dc and planit3d...

I found it out when I researched for the atlantis challenge. That's also the time I found the greek ship so It's not fresh in my memory where I got the ship - or Poseidon's beard - I made the trident myself but I'm sure you can do a better one in amapi or carrara.

Okay, I'm at home and I've got two triremes, one in 3ds and one in max format. the first one is about 500k and the other one about 300k, both compressed. the tail pack has a bass tail, not a siren tail, and it came from Bloodsong at http://www.3dmenagerie.com/. Bryce can import X files. :-) And planit3d doesn't have a trireme, but a drakkar.

Free the models has a trireme in the 3ds stuff at this link. They also have a greek hoplite character for poser and other greek helments and weapons so poke around the site a bit.

Ah, yeah, that's my 3DS trireme. Zhann, it's great, it has 260 parts and about 85 thousand polygons. I'd thought it came from 3dcafe.com.

OK, alrighty then, alot to digest, thanks guys, I may be changing the music to something less dramatic, or not, but the help is certainly appreciated, this isn't an easy challenge, have to learn to do all sorts of things, too many images running around in my head, did dl the trireme though....

Yep thats the guy alright. I susspect the greek ship and the other items are either available from more than one site or has been moved to this one, as the fishing vessel and the stadium also look familiar but the website doesn't ring any bells.
