For those who don't remember, this started a while ago in this same Forum when, after a thread about spamming, TJohn used all his irony to post a SPAM can rendered in Bryce.
Being Italian and all, I thought that SPAM was a mere Monty Python invention subsequently quoted by the internet nerds and entered in the common lingo... to my awe, I discovered that... it really existed! So Susan (eelie) offered to make me taste this beauty! :)
And, after a long sea, ocean and air travel, the package arrived this morning in Italy :) I just can't wait to try it, but I really couldn't open it before giving you the proof that this really happened! Oh, people, do I love this Forum! ;-)
Sorry, I don't have a digital camera, so this is a scanned picture of my very hand clutching the very thing itself!
Thanks again Susan!!! :)
Stefano

yes--spam, spreadable ham--do you have any plans for it? people hate both types of spam here.
eelie posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 10:46 AM
You are too funny! :o) And you're ever so welcome. You know you'll have to post your opinion now don't you? If no one else wants to know what you think, I do! Have fun with it and enjoy. Susan

Deviled ham is the spreadable ham but it never got famous thru a monty python song, lol. Two many syllables I guess.

And don't forget spam.com for all your Spam facts! They were running a contest not long ago too. Enter and treat your neighborhood to a Spam party if you won. Much as I like Spam, I just couldn't see having a Spam neighborhood party. :oD
woodhurst posted Fri, 13 June 2003 at 1:22 PM
spiced ham, spreadable ham, whats the difference? Its always going to be spreadable ham in my mind because this one time it was left out in the heat of the sun too long, and well, became spreadable :(

Hey, if people eat beef jerky or Slim Jims, they can't complain about Spam. :^)

Hey tjohn I eat plenty of jerky, but will not touch spam. I make my own jerky and know exactly what goes into it. I believe the meat ingredients on the spam label to be quite ambiguous.

That's incredible. I made a pause in the work to see if Susan answered to my message and found 28 (twenty eight!) answers! Oboy, SPAM must be really a thing up there!!! I had it... but I will leave you with the maximum suspence... 'til I post the result of this experience in another, dedicated thread :) Sidenote: Do the guyz at Corel know that we Brycers are so incredibly funny people? Italian culinary arts have just been knocked back years! There is a Spam club here at work. They meet every other month and host a potluck. Every dish must include Spam! I ate it as a kid, but haven't had it in years. Might have to try it on a camping trip maybe...
