Black Cow - By Steely Dan In the corner Of my eye I saw you in Rudy's You were very high You were high It was a cryin' disgrace They saw your face On the counter By your keys Was a book of numbers And your remedies One of these Surely will screen out the sorrow But where are you tomorrow I can't cry anymore While you run around Break away Just when it Seems so clear That it's Over now Drink your big black cow And get out of here Down to Greene Street There you go Lookin' so outrageous And they tell you so You should know How all the pros play the game You change your name Like a gangster On the run You will stagger homeward To your precious one I'm the one Who must make everything right Talk it out till daylight I don't care anymore Why you run around Break away Just when it Seems so clear That it's Over now Drink your big black cow And get out of here ******************************** I'd been wanting to do something like this for a while... ICM's challange and StephenRay's Steely Dan tribute gallery provided the kick in the butt to get it done. I modelled the mug, spoon, address book, shakers, and napkin holder in Carrara 1.1. Other stuff from freestuff here and 3DCafe, and from Carrara content CD. Textured using Bryce and Painter 6. Final 6 hour render in Bryce on normal AA (my longest yet, woohoo) with, probably another 3 hours in plop renders. Thanks for taking a peek.

Oh so good! I'm so glad I'm at work cause I can read most of the label. I just can't see what the doctor's names are. This is so excellent looking. Great job! Ang

I love the texture in the glass. Great details, the lighting is right on. Well done!

Excellent modelling! Especially the pill "bottle" and the keys look fantastic.

FWTempest posted Mon, 23 June 2003 at 2:43 PM

lol... wish I did the pill bottle.. it came from my Carrara 1.1 content CD. I just textured it. I'm pretty proud of that napkin/ napkin holder, though... I need to do another image where it's not half hidden in shadow. Thanks for the comments, folks. :)

The texture of the pill bottle is great, too - don't worry! :-) I think that one is the most realistic part of the image, and the red texture really draws the view to it!

Excellent job of bringing to life the image of another of my favorite old "Dr. Fagen" & "Dr. Becker" songs. The song rocks and so does this image. Kudos on the modeling and the realism of the texturing!

Wow. Just wow.
