Subject: Poser 5 dynamic hair export into OBJ format

Hello,

I do not have Poser 5 and someone using my utility PoseRay is having some problems with dynamic hair. I know that Poser 5 exports this hair as line entries using the wavefront format. PoseRay can read, display and convert these with no problem. The problem is that Poser 5, according to him, is only exporting the guide hairs only. Is there a way to make Poser 5 export all the dynamic hairs created?

I forgot to ask what service pack is he running. I would appreciate any information into this so that I can add it to the troubleshooting section of PoseRay's manual.

Thanks,

FlyerX

Poser 5 will only export the guide hairs, and even they don't export correctly because they are splines - they are treated as closed polys in the .obj file. As far as I know no-ones found a successful method of exporting the P5 hair yet.

You might find the linked message thread interesting. The only program that anyone seems to have gotten a useable version of the dynamic hair into is Cinema 4D, so far that is.
