Why do professional photographers spend so much time airbrushing out skin textures, freckles etc, and 3D people spend so much time trying to create textures to get them in?!?! (",)

LoL...that is an excellent question! I'd theorize on that but I try to keep my ramblings down to once a day, for I could go on and on about this (surprise, surprise) ;) Shannon

Erlik, that is an excellent answer! It probably would have taken me five or so paragraphs to give my theory and it still would not have been as clear as your one simple word :) Shannon

'Why do professional photographers spend so much time airbrushing out skin textures, freckles etc' It's quite simple. They don't. It's the idiot clients and Ad agencies who do it because they think everything needs to look 'perfect'. Grrrr..... mac (hates clients messing with his pics)

Damn, jordy. Now you've made me remember something I was hoping to forget. I did a calendar of a girl band 2 years ago (sort of Italian Spice Girls). It was distributed with a national magazine, and when I saw it printed, I was HORRIFIED. They'd air-brushed my pictures to DEATH! Took me months to recover from the embarrassment of it. mac
