i got this message while trying to save a pic in ps7 i've never seen it in ps6. "could not save a copy as"..." because the document is currently open, save using a different name , or close the document and try agian." anyone know why i would get this message , it doesn't make much sense, of course the document is currently open(if it wasn't i wouldn't be trying to save it) as for "save using a different name" i was saving a copy so it shouldn't matter, but i tried using a different name and got the same message (which is strange because if it couldn't save, how can it be already open, a file with the new name doesn't exist yet). and "close and try agian " is just stupid beacause that means you have to do the work all agian, which is what i did, then is save fine. sorry to go on and on, i just got home from 13 hours at work, trying to get a magazine ready for print. thanks josh

Well, could be a cache problem... Go to edit->purge->all. If that doesn't work, then open a new file wit the same dimensions and copy 'n paste, I guess.

Hi Josh, sorry to say but this is an on-going issue between Adobe and Microsoft. It has something to do with the manner Windows Explorer displays the "thumbnail" when you have the directory open.

Try changing your folder/directory view to DETAILS, to eliminate the system getting confused with "who" (Photoshop or Windows) has the file open.

I've got to take off for a little bit but i'll try to get you a better solution.
