I have Poser 5.0 and MAX 4.2. I just got the upgrade for the poser plugin to go from Poser Pro to Poser 5.0. The installation has been a little difficult. You have to go to their website to get it authorized. I eventually got it registered but in the response, I was supposed to get an authorization file as an attachment. I didn't; just some words where a file name should have been. Has anyone else had problems?

This probably depends on what email program you are using. The text you are describing is probably in an XML format. If your email reader does not recognize XML as an attachment, you may have problems. You should be able to copy the XML text from your email into a flat text file and use it to register the program. If that doesn't work, send an email to support@reiss-studio.com. I have found them to be very responsive so far.

When I viewed the message source, I could see that there was a lot of characters that were not visible on the message. I believe that you are right about the XML format thing. Thanks!

I am using Earthlink's TotalAccess which doesn't seem to recognize Extensible Markup Language (XML) which is alternative to HTML. I tried copying it to a text file but the XML part would not copy. I can see the encoded text when I use the View Source Message but I can't seem it to copy over to a flat text file. I have a message in to Reiss Studio's support group but it is the weekend so I probably won't hear from them until Monday.

Interesting. I would think you should be able to copy the text from the source view. But then again, I've never used Earthlink or their tools. I did a quick net and newsgroup scan for anything similar with Earthlink, but couldn't find anything of help. I do know in Outlook and Outlook Express there is an option that can be configured to automatically remove anything it considers to be an "unsafe" attachment (which seems to be everything it sees). Does TotalAccess have something similar? It may be a feature similar to this that is preventing you from accessing the file. It may also be a result of any built-in spam blocking features, which can get carried away sometimes.
