The first time I've tried entering the monthly challenge! Character is imported from Poser; garbage can was a freebie; terrains for the walls and ground. No postwork. Any feedback or comments are welcome.

Would that be 'Summer in the City' by the Lovin' Spoonful?

"Hot in the City" by Billy Idol?

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Is there a song "Hot in the City"? Or is this "Hot Child in the City" late 70's early 80's I think. Found the lyrics: Hot Child In The City Nick Gilder Danger in the shape of somethin' wild Stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child No one knows who she is or what her name is I don't know where she came from or what her game is (Hot child in the city) (Hot child in the city) (Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty) (Hot child in the city) So young to be loose and on her own Young boys, they all want to take her home She goes downtown, the boys all stop and stare When she goes downtown, she walks like she just don't care, care (Hot child in the city) (Hot child in the city) (Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty) Yeah (Hot child in the city) Come on down to my place, baby We'll talk about love Come on down to my place, woman We'll make love! Hot child in the city (Hot child in the city) She's kinda dangerous (Hot child in the city) Young child (Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty) Young child, runnin' wild (Hot child in the city) Hot child in the city (Hot child in the city) (Hot child in the city) (Hot child in the city) Hot child in the city (Hot child in the city) Hot child in the city (Hot child in the city)

Found the lyrics to "Hot in the City" never heard this one before. ARTIST: Billy Idol TITLE: Hot in the City Stranger, stranger, stranger, stranger It's hot here at night, lonely, black and quiet On a hot summer night Don't be afraid of the world we made On a hot summer night 'Cause when a long-legged lovely walks by Yeah you can see the look in her eye Then you know that it's {Refrain} Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, tonight Hot in the city, hot in the city tonight, tonight Stranger, stranger For all the dreams and schemes, people are as they seem On a hot summer night Don't be no fun, don't forget you're young On a hot summer night A sometime someone you're not Don't wait to see what you got 'Cause you know that you're {Refrain} We'll walk until my feet drop I'm a train when I'm hateful Yeah, lay right down now And ride until your head breaks I'm a-walkin' 'til my brain pops I will move with the beat now I'm a chain 'round an A-bomb I'm a ribbon in the heat now New York! {Refrain, repeat to fade}

Ack!!! OK, note to self: before doing the final render, check for floating garbage cans!! Oops, sorry about that everyone. Sometimes you get so caught up with some little thing, you miss the major things. As for the image being too dark, wanted a darker image, but not at the cost of losing detail. Perhaps my monitor is too bright, but I can still see most of the details (including the floating garbage can....)

mloates posted Mon, 30 June 2003 at 4:25 PM

OK, fixed the floating garbage can; also a bit brighter for those that couldn't see it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

danamo posted Tue, 01 July 2003 at 12:09 PM

Yes, this image is better! You can see the details in your great texture and terrain work. This is great!
