Hi all, I'm looking for some good metal mats, especially stainless steel. Any idea where I can find some? The metals that come with Vue are not really satisfying. ;) Many thanks in advance, Phil

Thanks, Guitta. I already saw this post, but unfortunately there are no hints how to achieve the results or an url to the mats. Any other ideas? A link to a appropriate tutorial would help a lot, too. Phil

Metals from Vue are too much reflective for what you are looking (brushed metals). So try to reduce reflection to 70%, blured reflection to minimum 5. For the color try a light grey , for the bumps choose a function like smoothed noise (x=0.1 ,y=10., z=1 to produce brushed patterns), bumps amplitude of 0.01 or less. For highlights, 200 could be nice, you can try to apply a variable highlight with the same function as above. You should try to modify these settings to obtain the best results. Maybe it's better to use image map of brushed metal directly to obtain more realistic In fact the most important point is to have a real environment around the object to create a realistic metal reflection.
