please tell me there's a way to break a parent-child link so it can be adjusted and than re-linked.In specular infini-d it was a tool in the toolbox(can't get any easier than that)

If you are talking about just changing the parenting of an object in Poser, just re-parent the obj back to the universe again. If you were referring to setting up IK chains, ...can't help ya there.

Thank God....I thought you were having family dynamics problems.... Scarab

heya; you can grab the child figure/prop and move it around without unparenting it. the parent doesn't follow the child.

By the by, ....my family broke the "parent-child link" by waiting until I was in college and moving away.....(true story) Scarab <-(traumatized)

here's my problem,(I'm still with my parents, sorry to hear about the trauma scarab) and I fear it's a major one.I already made this figure into new character and have been texturing and setting up joints to this new character. After rendering I notice all these seams, or craks where I didn't align the parts up well enough.I'm using this figure for a game so can probably get away with it(because I'm sure as hell not starting over)if I delete the IK chains I still can't move the child away from the parent, hey look on the brite side scarab you could be 23 and still living in their basement(loser-me)

heya; well, i don't think moving the body parts will fix the seams and cracks. not unless you do it before you export the obj (or spawn the pieces, whatever). if the pieces were not welded together at the outset, poser will not be able to weld them by itself. unless you manages to get every single vertex on the edges to match up with its mate. there, there, scarab. WE like you. :)
