Does Poser 5 support network rendering? I want to be able to spawn a job to a dedicated network server running Poser 5 as a foreground or background job.

No, it doesn't. I'm hoping that if a P5 Pro Pack is developed, that will be one of its new features. Do you have Vue d'Esprit? It has network rendering support, imports Poser scene files, and can currently handle everything except P5's dynamic hair and cloth (and maybe the procedural textures).

@Little Dragon: I know this is Poser Forum but I have v4.12 of Vue. and the page 310 of the user guide says "Vue doesn't support network rendering." but is possible the updates have corrected this. Could you say how can I use this option? Thanks

Mover 4 for Vue adds the redercow network rendering.

Which makes sense, since network rendering is only viable for animation frame rendering, not single image rendering. There is no such thing as single image network rendering, at least that I've seen using LightWave, Cinema, Maya, 3DSMax, and Vue, because it would require constant talking between "clients" of the network to keep information up-to-date. IOW, the clients would be interdependent, whereas clients doing individual animation frames can render independently. On the other hand, multiple-processors do actually aid in single image renders. My dual Xeon w/HT, renders using four threads in LW and Cinema which cuts the render times to a third of my nearly equivalent single processor wo/HT. Kuroyume
