First, my apologies for double-posting. I put this little piece up on the Wings Forum yesterday, by way of a thank you to draculaz for his excellent tutorial on a similar theme. Mikeangelo suggested I should add it here to perhaps encourage other Vue users who may not have tried modelling to have a go. As my post on the other forum is tucked away in a thread on the second page where it might go unnoticed, I have accepted his suggestion.
This is my first completed model using Wings 3D, created after only 4 hours experience using this amazing program. Having had little or no success with other perhaps more well known modelling packages, I have been very pleasantly surprised how easy this has been to pick up and obtain at least passable results.
I do not pretend there is any artistic merit in this simple little piece, but thought for any of you who have not tried creating your own models, it might provide encouragement to experiment. Give it a try - it's free, so you've nothing to lose. Download details and other information on the Wings Forum here at Renderosity.
Craft modelled in Wings 3D. Scene built and rendered in Vue. Minor post-work in Paint Shop Pro enhancing the glow effect and hiding a small error in the geometry of the model that went unnoticed until the final render.

I saw the tutorial too, printed it out for later. Looks great, Flycatcher. Can't wait to see what Thomas does when he gets his hands on Wings, lol!

Thanks, I've been wondering what modelling program to try for a while now, I'll give it a go.
