Subject: Don and Judy -- not too bad!

I don't usually do much with the P5 Don and Judy figures. Even though I think they have some of the better bodies of any Poser characters, in terms of proportion and realism, I've never liked their faces. But then Farrah (a MP product) came along and I had a pretty Judy, and now 3Dream has posted a really excellent set of morphs for Don in the Freestuff.

This is the first Don character I've seen that... well... de-Dons him. I think I'm going to be using these two a lot more from now on. :-)

Not bad at all...and nicely composed, too. If you gave her hair a little more gravity (w/ a magnet or something), it would be just about perfect.

By the way, if you have Poser 5 and can't run it on your computer, the figures and poses work just as well in Poser 4. I use them all the time in Poser 4 without a problem. Just thought I'd pass this along.

Here's a clearer look at the two characters. The female figure is Judy with the default body and a modified version of Quarker's Farrah head morph (I changed the nose and some other features a bit.) The male figure is Don with the default body and a slightly modified version of 3Dream's head morph.

I'm really taken with these two. They're attractive, but they still look more or less like normal people (instead of bodybuilders or supermodels) which is something I liked about the P4 figures as well.

And thanks, kbade! :) I don't know much about using magnets; I'm in awe of people like Beth (Capsces) who are magnet masters.

They look great ! The one beef I have had about Don and Judy is that they look like Fred Flintstone and Miss Piggy respectively. What you have done is completely turn them into different (much better looking) people.

They look great. I've been strugglying trying to de-Judy myself. I have Hmann's Judy Plus but still not having a lot of luck. Do you have the links for the Don morphs at 3Dream?

Any Victoria and Michael textures should work, aside from the eyes.

I have found that the Face Room gives a reasonable level of de-Donning and de-Judying. The problem is that I have not yet worked out how to apply the morphs in the Face Room to the original Don/Judy face - it always starts out with a completely different face.

Yeah, I agree with all of the above. It seems to me that everybody (including myself) just gave up on this dynamic duo (Don and Judy, that is) a tad too quickly. I've always felt that some hard work with these two would pay off. Afterall, a little hard figurework is only healhty isn't it...it's a challenge to work with, anyways. And if you have the time to spare, a challenge is a good thing. Gotta go dust off these two figures.... -Hanz

"Any Victoria and Michael textures should work..." ...as long as they have Eyebrows painted on the texture ;). That Judy head morph looks great and Don too. I've always been fond of Judy - from the neck down (and not necessarily including the arms). I just wish they'd given her more transmapable areas.

If you render Vicky's head front on and side on then use them in the face room you can get Judy to look just like any Vicky head - not sure if this is of any use at all but I just had to try it!!

I always thought that Don looked a little like Michael Keaton a few years ago.

I was in need of some different characters for an animation I'm working on, so I copied the P5 figures and clothing into PPP. I import the animations into Cinema to render. The figures work great in PPP and don't have as much overhead as Mike and the Vics. I'm working with 8 to 12 figures so the overhead does count. I might just have to start modeling some clothes for these folks when I get this animation done. Ed

The guy in the pictures looks kind of like the grown Bud Bundy in the tv show Married With Children.

Judy is a nice character to have so that all characters aren't forced to look like V3. I don't think there's anything wrong with a non-supermodel type for scenes. The more variety the better.

I like cats. I like Judy. Shrug. Each to their own.
