hi. i recently created a image in poser, then exported the main peice as an pbject for bryce. now loading in bryce, everything seemed to go okay. but after render, i noticed something.. the face ont he girl is not there. the texture loaded, cause it asked me to find it. why did this happen?, and how can i fix it? im not all that good with bryce. i dont have alot of time to work with it, so what work i do with it, never really turns out. any help will be greatly appreciated... see image:

Its difficult to see, but to me it looks like the hair object is covering parts of the face. Try to move it back a little, and see how it looks.

What it might be is that the transparency maps for the hair aren't loaded (and the bits that should be transparent but aren't are now covering the face). When you impoort into bryce, you have to load the trans maps yourself. This is a tut I wrote a while ago for loading trans maps for eyelashes -> http://uqconnect.net/wasteland/tut/eyelash.html Do a search in this forum for poser to bryce threads - someone here was writing a monster tut on the subject.

i cant really see whats happening with the face... maybe you accidentally moved the face object... can yuo make it bigger? then we could help you out. well maybe it the hair trans really, or at times the importing problems, rarely occurs but happens... try this... when you export your poser check the "weld groups" or "weld polygons" to lessen the number ob objects... and never ever ungroup the imported objects! never! if you want to pick a certain object press "ctrl" and right click. choose from selections on the drop down menu... make a trial and error when choosing... you'll get the hang hang of it soon... hope this helps

thanx.. looking at it closer, im sorry is so small, the face is tilted sideways, and the hair didnt move with it. i dont remember touching it, except for enlarging it to fit te scene,a nd rotating gthe entire object togeher. but maybe by accident i moved a single peice. i can try it again, i lost the pz3 file, but stil have the object file and bryce file so we'll see what hapens. again..thanx...

Only thee color texture loads from poser. You have to go back and load the transparency into the second box of the texture window. When I import from poser I usually start with a new blank scene. I import and ungroup the figure. Clicking on the figure selects one material, usually the skin or clothing. Click on the material editor and check out the properties and adjust as needed. Since it's really impossible to touch the iris of the eye in bryce I use the tab button on the keyboard. Each time you press this it steps to the next material in the figure. It also lets you select without the risk of moving that object with the mouse click. I walk through the whole character till it looks right, then I regroup it. I click on the character and go to the top menu bar and press copy. I open the original scene file without closing bryce. When the scene comes up,(in your case the boat, water , and rocks) I go back to the top menu and press paste. The figure should appear in the scene. Position it and save the file.
