...if anyone else had been contacted by a person saying that they had "visited your website" and were interested in using your work in some book entitled "CGI: The Art of Computer Generated Images."? Over the years I've gotten stuff like this and mostly it's just folks looking to use your stuff to promote their own "product"--meaning, I've done all sorts of similar stuff and have never benefitted from it personally or professionally...and is why I usually don't participate. I mean I guess it's great if you want to see yourself "in print" or use it on a resume or sumtin... ...anyhow, if you have I'm just curious and/or wondering...ain't no harm in "talking"... ...and why I'm posting this here is that I noticed that they happened to choose/quote the three images that I had "showcased" (and since changed) on my home page here at Renderosity (?) Taa-taa, ya'll Bryan

Nope, I've never been approached but then I'm not known or good enough yet! I'm glad to hear folks are getting approached about their art from here though. It is one of the reason for "being". There have been a few get jobs as a result of their galleries. :)

Me neither, but I must say that the very first time I was invited to participate in something I thought it was fake - how did they find me and how could they thought that my artworks were "so good" to be chosen?... After that (to which I agreed to participate, but I didn't get any profit/benefits so far) I've received other requests/invitations, and the very first one became real last friday: I've received a CD of a band that uses one of my (old) images in the cover art of their CD. And yes, I had a small profit this time. I'm so ashamed, it's just a Mandelbrot zoom... whatever. I feel famous now.
