I'm all sorts of fed up trying to get my film to transfer well over to digital, I've got a completely manuel-less film scanner that I've got no clue how to use and a flatbed scanner that takes centuries to get just one picture digital, so, since I've gone almost completely film over the last two months, if I don't get one or the other figured out I might be out of r'osity for good : Any suggestions with them?

1: email the company for some basic tech support (I assume the scanner has some sort of model name and number on it). 2: ask the film scanning pros here for help. 3: don't leave anyways. just cuz you may not upload photos don't mean u gotta leave for good. I haven't posted a photo in over a year I believe, never stopped me from posting (under other names, b/pm is a new one).

Oh I wouldn't leave, I'd stay on in the forums and what not, I'm looking into more options here and there, heh, just a fed up moment, something new to learn around every corner .)

Go to the manufacturers website, and see what you can find.... but you've probably already done that and come up empty. How about telling us what kind of film scanner you have...maybe somebody has one, and can walk you thru?

I am, therefore I create.......

Sure Michelle, Primefilm 1800i we've had it for quite some time, probably the same length of time I've even had a digital camera, just never needed it until now

Ah ... a fellow film scanner user. I share your pain my brother. What can I do to help? I take it the manual is long gone? If so, go to the above link. This is the maker's driver/software download page for this model (I was looking at it when I found the Minolta Dimage scanner and got that instead - the Minolta has a 2820dpi res as opposed to the PF 1800i's 1800dpi). They also have a PDF file manual for the Cyberview X software that shows you how to scan using the 1800 series of scanners. If that's not the problem, let us know what it is ... we may be able to figure it out. -=>Donald

I use the free Vuescan software to scan my films. Easy to setup and easy to correct/mess around with setting without having to scan the film again. :)
