Personally, I prefer the your buildings with sharper roofs - tiled, not thatched. The building has very crisp lines, so shingles fit better to me. Otherwise, I really like it. The shutters and wood trim are quite well done. Cheers!

Oh, man, I love the curved thatched roof ones the best! They don't look like everything else. I think Potter's cottage is a perfect name.

In going along with the theme I considered Potterswood, I havn't ruled it out. I just don't know yet. A nice long name like "The Cottage in Potterswood" would be great, but it won't fit in the figure name box in poser. Billy

The potter manor, or the potter manner house? Billy this is a beautiful house I love it. Please dont change roof. I love the grass thatched look. I see Tuesday going to be working on this one next. Only thing how about a little prorch that comes off the door, maybe? Susan

susan, Also the roof will remain, I just want to map the thatch a little better. I'm not happy with it. Of course I am never happy with the thatch roofs until Tuesday get them. I just can't seem to texture them like she does. Though my textures are not the greatest I try to get them as good as I can and to do that I usually map them several times before I settle on one.

Ooh, I can't wait. :) The only thing I see is the side of the chimney's texture looks stretched a bit. Maybe a bit of noise in the roof thatch texture? Anyway, I love it. :)

With luck I'll have another pic posted today with the fixed roof texture and hopefuly a better texture on the chimneys. I guess I made the maps too small on the chimneys. The maps in this pack are huge. I've been learning some new mapping techniques. Billy

I look forward to this piece, ironhart. Too bad you chose a potter's wheel and such. If you had made something to churn butter with and to make cheese, you could have called it, "Cottage Cheese". slapping indignant mouth

A giant GROAN at Chuck. Love the cottage, ironhart.

Still open to suggestions. With luck this will go into testing maybe by the weekend. I still have to position some parts and group stuff.

Certainly, the new thatch looks better. Never been a texturer but as I understand it, getting curves to work without "skewing" (or something like that) is tough. I started to say the patio area roof didn't look as good, then read all your message (grin). It definitely has its own unique character to it. You can count me in when it's in the MP, ironhart.

Here is a picture of the potter's wheel and some of the accessories that go in the patio. The pose on posette isn't very good. It is a miracle that I got clothes on her sucessfully. The wheel was concocted by me and a friend. I wanted to make a older style wheel. Being as it is nearly impossible to find existing examples, we tried to make it simple yet functional. I hope we succeeded.

I love the house, but there is something a little off about the potter's wheel from this angle. It can't lay flush on the table or it couldn't spin. there's a spoke running from the top to the wheel that is spun with the foot. The tables I've seen have a cut out around the wheel so it can move freely. Look at the photo at the link...it gives more or less an idea of what I mean (yes, it's a more modern one, but it is the way the potter wheel attaches together that I'm getting at).dialyn posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 4:00 PM

There's one on Ebay...sort of. See the space between the wheel and the table top...???? I'll stop now...it's not really my field.ironhart posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 5:35 PM
WOW! nice pics of a wheel! I might do a little redesigning. but actually this wheel does have the post and it is above the table. It is very close to the table like in the second picture you supplied. Plus the render above is a "no shadows" render since the stuff is in the patio. It would require special lighting to render it inside the patio and the shadows would then make it obvious that it is slightly above the table surface. Thank you Dialyn Billy

stuff to do includes walls and grouping and finding a way to get a staircase in. Duh! I put in the second storey and forgot to plan the stairs :(
I also need to do textures here and there.
Thank you for the suggestions and I hope you all like it. It has been a real tough one, but I think it is going to be a good finished product.
