This is a bit more abstract as my 1st entry I think :) Can you guess what this is?

u live plenty for imagination here, but this one reminds me of sand ... the seashore ... maybe ??? ;0]

looks kinda like the skin around my ex-mother in law's neck but I'm gonna go with either mud or silt flow... and I know I'm way off.... Jack

Ok here's the answer :p

It's the stuff the birds are walking on. They're basalt blocks held together by a kind of tar. Since it's on a slope it forms these kinds of patterns before solidifying.

It's part of my country's defense against the sea.

I would have said petrified, pre-historic mud, but then again, that may not have been too far off.

I would have said also solified Mud or volcano's solified lava. very nice.
