Went to the mall here and was glad to get in on the HL2 fray, got my copy reserved at Babbages. The graphics and rendering in this game is unbelievable, can't wait til it comes out. Plus it should inspire me on some more image ideas by then too, which will be fun. :) Anyone looking to reserve it, Babbages is reserving for a $5 minimum, and you can add to it anytime you want, I may kick in $5 a week to pay it off by the time it's released. It is going to retail pretty much everywhere at $55. Not too bad considering the technology that's going into it. Any other Half-Lifers in here? MD :)

Played the first Half-Life and enjoyed every minute of it! The second part looks like it will be a winner also ;-)

Yeah, I tailored the last upgrade on my computer, the Radeon 9600 pro, for HL2. I really didn't need it for anything I had, but that game looks utterly amazing. If it's anything like the previews I will piss myself with utter glee.

Me and the lads here in the office love HL and 90% of its expansions - manys the time ive had to work late due to a good lan session of Opposing force or CS. Cant wait for HL2 Stash ;0)

Since it got brought up I thought I 'd play HL again. I loved killing off the helicoptor with the automatic pistol (7 shots this time - I didn't even know I could knock it out with the pistol but the buzzard ticked me off and that is what I was carrying.)

DoD addict here(and a mac user, 8^(..), I was playing it mostly at a friend's house, but about 2 weeks ago I bought a PC($908+ mike-$921) primarily for DoD. Is that sad or what?

I'm a long-term HL fan myself. Personally, the original HL game wasn't all too amazing to me, but I LOVE mods for HL. Im simply salivating over the mods for HL2, good gravy, I can't wait. But with HL3 coming later, the story-line should end in a cliff-hanger....again. Argh! But anyway, it still seems very interesting, and I can't wait to go snatch it up. Oh, and by the way, I really don't like the new version of DoD (after they sold out). Its just so weird.

antevark posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 8:17 PM

The mod seems pretty much the same to me except that they modified the maps slightly and added the British. That part I don't like, because their guns are terrible. And I can't stand SP games or missions, so I'm not too interested in what the storyline will be. Maybe burn time when internet's down, though. That and Bryce.

Halfe Life is one of the best games ever and the mods for it were bloody brilliant, does anyone remember the one where they kept saying "who goes there.........fresh brains". That one was made by the guys who made HL and it was even better than the game, spookier I think. 8) Catlin

Some guy did a mod for half life and it had zombies in it. It was really well done. Think the mod was called "They hunger" and it was done by Neill manke (sp?). There are 3 episodes. Maybe the pc game site has all the episodes. I like half life but some of the jumping and timing puzzles could have been left out. Felt more like Super Mario Alien World with guns. Will get HL2, hope it runs on my machine well.

Gah, my comp just went hay-wire and I had to delete everything on my hard-drive (so-long July Challenge, lol). But I have no clue where my half-life CD or case is(which has the key). Arrrghh! I must find it!

Since we're talking games has anyone else had the misfortune to play the new Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness? It has so much possibility but the number of glitches in it make the game play a nightmare. I had to get it 'cos I've bought every single episode and after the long wait we've had for it's appearance I couldn't resist, BUT, I wish they had kept hold of it longer 'cos there is no point in releasing a game that has so many problems. Disappointed me....................8( Catlin

Bought the first one and played it a bit. Don't remember why I never finished it. Went through a stupid phase and started throwing away the game cd jewel cases and replacing them with PC gamer cd envelopes. No more fussing with broken jewel cases. Then my old drive started to go south, had to buy new drives and redo my system. When it was time to reinstall Starcraft, it did not go too well without the serial number on the jewel case. Waiting for Doom3 and HL2, will get them both if they don't suck.
