I'm new to Poser and just completed an on-line Poser 4 course. I've created some neat things however, this past weekend I purchased a few things from Daz3d and have downloaded a few things from this site. Now I have files that are reflected in the Library's drop down menue that doesn't seem to work. Clearly, I've mismanaged something. First, does anyone know where I can get information on Poser 4's differnt file types, and their function. Secondly, what Mat! files, and .pp2, pp3, and pz2 files are, and their function. Again, if you know of a resource that I can refer to, it would be quite useful. Thanks

Above is a link to a page on English Bob's site, you should find most of what you need to know there. The word "mat" is used in a few diffrent sences, sometimes it is just used as an abriviation for the word material. A "*.mat" file is one associated with an "*.obj" file, it contains information about what materials to use for the object. There is also so a type of "*.pz2" called a MAT Pose, it is loaded from a pallet on the rigth hand side of the Poser interface, and is used to apply textures and/or colours to to figures and props.

...actually, a Wavefront format material file associated with a .obj file is a ".mtl" file ;).
