do u want to give shadow to transparant object. if it is so, i can help u out
BowOnix posted Tue, 22 July 2003 at 2:00 AM
Not sure about what you means, i want to draw shape with the pen tool, then make it a selection then if possible find a way to make a drop down shadow to this shape. I know that panter4 was able to do that easily but in PhotoShop, i am not sure it's possible even with a lot of work. But maybe give a shadow to transparant object is a way to look at it. I am all eyes or ears if you like :D

I think it's working for text, but if you give a try with the pen tool, draw any shape, make it a selection then try to put a drop down shadow. Tell me what you think ! Thanks anyway for trying to help me with that. You are very kind. :D

Neat huh?
Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing?

Your English makes perfect sense BowOnix.
I did this with Photoshop 7 but I think it's the same or similar with 6
Create a new layer & then draw your path on it with the pen tool.
Click on the paths tab in the layers pallet, then click the arrow next to it & choose "Stroke Path".
A menu will come up asking you what tool you wish to use to stroke the path with (before you start make sure your brush tool is set to the size & colour you want to stroke the path with).
Duplicate the layer & then choose the layer underneath that one.
Fill that path with black & apply a Gaussian Blurr (from the filters menu) to it so it makes the desired shadow you want.
Then simply drag the shadow with the move tool so it is offset from the path & appears to be its shadow.
Hope that helps.
