Subject: New bryce "plugin" line begins with smartpipe!

Hi everyone. I've begun developing several bryce add-ons that are built to act like plugins rather than just models. The first in the series is now know as "smartpipe." It is a 300 metaball 7-segment poseable bryce pipe. It has directional arrows for texture management and is flexible enough for some pretty wild flexations. Check out the animated gif. Next up is the "zenith rig..." Hope you all look forward to it's release!

Here is a quick test render. Smartpipe with default bryce chrome rendered with low-res zenith beta. Render time was 6 minutes on these 300 reflective metaballs on default settings. I guess you all know what zenith does now :)

I'm confused, what does zenith do? Does it twist the hose, ie. spiral? Catlin 8?

Don't look at the hose, it's not the hose. default settings...

I would hazard a guess at a path with metaballs. But, that's still great since a lot of people struggle with paths, aligning objects to it, and mulit-replicating. Great idea. I'm working on my little material, right now it's DTE AND a picture texture, trying to replicate the picture to some extent in the DTE. Not sure if it will look (wrap) excatly the same on madmax's hose, but I belive it should. AgentSmith

wow what a huge response! It should be available in the next few days (maybe 4 days) to a week, along with the zenith sun light rig. It is a metaball pipe on a path, not a "plugin" but it has attached inidicators (blue) to allow you mire precise alignment of the path. The reason I say it is kind of like a plugin is that it is more failsafe and versatile than just a metaball path. For example...using two smartpipes I can quickly sculpt my name!

Because inquiring minds want to know, if you don't have Bryce5 with metaball capability are you still going to be able to use it, I know some here are working with Bryce4....

Quest I was thinking of vines over a any kind of entrance or along a wall, could be 'cause I was just watching 'Minority Report' and the vines on that wall were really cool!
